Vocabulary: weathering: the process of breaking large rocks into smaller rocks deposition: the dropping of weathered rock by wind or moving water glacier: a huge body of ice and snow that moves over land erosion: the process of wind, water, ice, or gravity moving weathered rock and soil from one place to another sediment: small pieces of rock, such as sand and silt.

Vocabulary:
Earthquake: a sudden shift, or movement of the rock below earth's surface. Volcano: an opening in Earth's crust from which gas, smoke, and rock flow. Landslide: the sudden movement of rock and soil down a hill or slope.

Vocabulary
Resource: materials found in nature that are used by living things. Renewable Resource: natural resources that can be replaced in a short period of time. Nonrenewable resource: those that are not quickly replaced like soil, rocks, and minerals. Pollution: any harmful substance in the environment. Fossil Fuel: an energy source formed from the remains of dead organisms. Conservation: wise use of natural resources. Recycle: use materials over again.
